The Aboriginal Mining Preparation Program has been designed to provide students with an opportunity to develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to be able to integrate into a Mining Camp setting for employment.
This 12 week program will provide students with hands-on training and experience.
PARTICIPANTS WILL BE PROVIDED TRAINING IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS:

  • Personal Career Portfolio Development (Resumes, Cover Letters, Job Search)
  • Food Safe
  • ENFORM Level 1 Chainsaw Safety
  • WHMIS
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG)
  • Bear Aware
  • HS2 Alive
  • S-100 Fire Suppression
  • Industrial Safety Awareness
  • Occupational First Aid Level 1aboriginal mining
  • Transportation Endorsement
  • Industrial First Aid Level 3
  • Forklift Operator Certification

APPLICATION / ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

  • Completed application package
  • Recent official transcripts
  • Copy of your BC Medical Card
  • Copy of Birth Certificate
  • Copy of your status card (if applicable)
  • CAT-4 Test Results (ALL students must write the CAT-4 Test prior to being admitted to the program)
